Yes you heard right! Just like last season, States has been moved to the North Creek Ski Bowl on the back side of Gore Mtn. in beautiful North Creek NY.
This announcement comes today in an email from State Nordic Coordinator Bob Underwood. In his email he also assured skiers there will be a banquet this year. After the last-second move to Gore last season, organizers had little time and could not piece together a last second official banquet. There is little information regarding where the banquet will be or how much it will cost but we do know it will be Monday night (real helpful KZM news team reporting)
KZM looks forward to seeing if this sudden change in venue will have an effect on their State Championship Predictions.
More info about the move and the banquet will surly become available in due time.

If you have qualified for Eastern High School Championships (EHCS) or U16s and you have not signed up yet be sure to due so before States! In an interview with team leaders Brian Halligan (EHSC) and Dave Paarleberg-Kvam (U16s) both leaders expressed a desire to fill their respective teams by any means necessary.
"NY has never brought a full team to one of these events. We feel the best way to increase our level as a state is to offer the experience of participating on this team to as many skiers as possible. We want to give those who qualified by racing at the JNQs a chance to claim their hard earned spot by registering now, then, after states we are going to open registration to anyone who wants to go, regardless of qualification" Coach Halligan explained in an interview.
Registration for EHSC can be found HERE and for U16s can be found HERE. If you have qualified, be sure to secure your spot.
"I think the level of skiing in NY is on the rise, and the kids we have this year stand a chance at beating some of those New Englanders. But that can only happen with a full team." Coach Paarlberg-Kvam expressed. "This would be huge for NY skiing. Kind of like Jessie and Kikkan claiming the first Olympic gold medal for the US."
Below, KZM found a picture of the last time EHCS was in Maine. Loads of fun were had and memories were made. Not to mention the successful results this team had. If I were you, I'd register right away!
